Google Airplane Finds New Competitor
Over the weekend, I had the good fortune to read in the Wall Street Journal about a ‘Middle East buyer’s’ plans to build a super-stylin’ Airbus 380 mega jet with every possible amenity including whirlpool tub (how 70s). For an overview with 3D renderings, visit Robert Frank’s video on the WSJ site.
The jet recalls the comparatively smaller plans of Google to put it’s own plane into the air. GOOG purchased a used Boeing 767 in 2005 and they have renovated (or are in process of renovating) the jet’s interior. According to reports that surfaced when the jet’s interior decorator and Google got into an argument over payments, the jumbo jet is tricked out with Google founders Sergei Brin’s and Larry Page’s personal touches including a hammock and king size bed. No word yet on spinning, chrome rims for Googlejet.
At ContextWeb, we currently only have plans for a jet. For now, we fly coach.
