The “I” in Blogging

The blogosphere is always generating - and referencing - a ton of great data. This time, in a recent post on the blogosphere by Pranam Kolari on eBiquity, he suggests that the use of “I” is experiencing a downward trend and that this correlates with the number of english language posts having plateaued. Though he is not explicit, I am guessing that Mr. Kolari assumes bloggers use the word “I” in their posts because they are often referencing their opinions and therefore “I” is a good gauge.

Social Community Plugs InJust when you the thought the sharing and communication available to you on sites like Facebook, Friendster and MySpace could go no further, a recent trend has gained momentum according to today’s BusinessWeek article from Olga Kharif.

To a degree, the openness of social networking platforms has been around for a while. Witness the many MySpace photo sites that allow users to copy and past javascript code to achieve prime backgrounds or slide shows, for example.

Without question, sites like Kevin Rose’s Digg, Netscape, Reddit, Del.icio.us and others are having an impact with their ability to drive traffic and create superstars out of its more ardent users such as Adam Fuhrer, a 12 year-old Canadian who posts on Reddit - much to Mike Arrington’s chagrin.

Web Publishers, Steve Jobs and The End of DRM

They’re back!

Yahoo!It appears as of 3 p.m. PT yesterday that the last layer of form and functionality has been revealed in Yahoo!’s Panama… the new and improved online ad network that concerns some search marketers… but, by and large, is welcomed with open arms. Another player in the contextual (via its Yahoo! Publisher Network) and search engine marketing arena - in addition to Google - is exactly what the marketplace is yearning for and Yahoo! will likely have a significant impact.

YouTube, Google Meet Viacom In Copyright Battle

maverick.gifMark Cuban, the multi-millionaire who sold broadcast.com for hundreds of millions of dollars to Yahoo in the go-go days of the Internet, is taking on web media behemoth, Google, for being less than truthful in regards to its ongoing battle with copyright owners such as Viacom. Viacom, who refuses to make a deal with YouTube/Google over its videos on the popular video service, earns Cuban’s sympathies:
